Empowering students to think critically, speak up, and take action against human trafficking.
DAWN Against Trafficking is proud to launch the Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Scholarship Essay Competition, an initiative designed to amplify youth voices and encourage thoughtful solutions to one of the world’s most urgent human rights challenges.
This scholarship invites students to explore the realities of human trafficking, challenge misconceptions, and propose meaningful strategies for prevention, education, and survivor support—while earning financial support for their education.

- 1st Place: $150

Essay Prompts (choose one from below)
- What innovative strategies could help eradicate human trafficking in the modern world? Identify one recent technology that could make a positive impact.
- How can communities work together to prevent human trafficking?
- What roles do education and awareness play in combating human trafficking? Should the subject be introduced in schools? If so, how?
- How can we better support survivors of human trafficking? What resources are most needed?
- What are common misconceptions about human trafficking, and how can we overcome them?
Eligibility
- Open to all students ages 14–18
Submission Guidelines
- Format:
- MLA format
- Typed, double-spaced
- 12-point Times New Roman
- 1-inch margins
- Proper heading and title
- Length:
- Maximum 600 words (excluding citations)
- Citations:
- All sources must be properly cited in MLA style
- Originality:
- Submissions must be entirely original
- AI-generated content is not permitted
- Essays will be checked for plagiarism
